Abstract:In order to study the effect of area ratio and shape of microtexture on friction performance of gear pair, the textures with different shapes and area ratios were processed on the surface of the 45 steel specimen after heat treatment by the laser marking machine. The effect of texture area ratio and shape on friction coefficient was analyzed by using reciprocating friction and wear tester, and the results were compared with those of the Fluent simulation analysis. The simulation results show that as the texture area ratio increases, the friction coefficient decreases, the oil film bearing capacity and oil film stiffness increase, and the rectangular texture has better friction reduction performance. The experimental results are consistent with the simulation results.Compared with the untextured surface, when the area ratio of rectangular texture is 17%,the average friction coefficient decreases by 18.06%,and the friction coefficient increases by 4.17% and 1.39% respectively when the square and circular texture area is 4. 7%.Textured surface can improve oil film stiffness and bearing capacity, make the oil film not easy to break, reduce the direct contact between the friction pairs and reduce the friction coefficient. The influence of microstructure shape and area ratio on the friction performance of gear pair is obtained, which provides experimental support for improving the life of gear system.
