Abstract:According to the actual operating conditions and design parameters requirements of a construction machinery, the objective function and working condition constraint of worm transmission pairs were established. The cylindrical and hourglass worm pairs were designed according to the optimized parameters, and the tooth surface contact characteristics of the two types of worm pairs were analyzed under working load and static self-locking load. The two types of worm pair transmission prototypes were assembled, and the test bench of the transmission pair prototype was built. The load operation test of the transmission pair was conducted on the test bench to compare and investigate the wear conditions of the tooth surfaces. The analysis results show that under the same design parameters, loading method and load, compared with the cylindrical worm pair, the hourglass worm pair has more contact tooth pairs, less equivalent stress and equivalent strain on the tooth surface, less wear on the tooth surface and better bearing capacity.
