Abstract:For the problem that the size and quality of the slit restricted thrust aerostatic bearing is difficult to be guaranteed, a type of micro-orifice restrictor thrust aerostatic bearing is proposed. Based on the Fluent software, to ensure that the total throttling area of the bearing is the same, changing the film thickness, the orifice (seam) depth, the capacity, the stiffness and the gas consumption of the Slit restrictor and the Micro-orifice restrictor, which were compared and analyzed, then the total throttling area was taken different values, further analyzed and compared the characteristic of the bearing, so as to determine whether the two bearings in certain conditions are interchangeable. The results show that when the film thickness, the orifice (slit) depth, and the throttling area are taken different values, the capacity, the stiffness and the gas consumption of the Slit restrictor and the Micro-orifice restrictor have a high consistency. The Micro-orifice restrictor thrust aerostatic bearing can take the place of the slit-restricted thrust aerostatic bearing in a certain condition.
