Abstract:In order to understand effect of cutting parameters on cutting temperature of minimal quantity lubrication (MQL) of carbon steel, there was a 45 steel turning experiments. In the experiments, natural thermocouple was used to measure cutting temperature by different cutting parameters in conditions of dry cutting, MQL or conventional casting lubrication, and the laws and reasons were learned. The results show that MQL cutting temperature increases with the rise of cutting parameters, cutting speed has the greatest impact on MQL cutting temperature and cutting depth has the minimal impact; MQL cooling effect is better than traditional casting lubrication at low cutting speed, but it is worse in the middle or high cutting speed; MQL cooling capacity is weaken with increasing cutting speed or feed rate, not with cutting depth.
